Simon and Garfunkel, the concert in Central Park (17)Lyrics; I am just a poor boy and my storys seldom toldIve squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promisesAll lies and jest, still the man hears what he wants to hearAnd disregards the rest, hmmmmWhen I left my home and my family, I was no more than a boyIn the company of strangersIn the quiet of the railway station, runnin scaredLaying low, seeking out the poorer quarters, where the ragged people goLooking for the places only they would knowLi la li...Asking only workmans wages, I come lookin for a job, but I get no offersJust a comeon from the whores on 7th avenueI do declare, there were times when I was so lonesomeI took some comfort thereNow the years are rolling by me, they are rockin even meI am older than I once was, and younger than Ill be, thats not unusualNo it isnt strange, after changes upon changes, we are more or less the sameAfter changes we are more or less the sameLi la li...And Im laying out my winter clothes, wishing I was gone, goin homeWhere the new york city winters arent bleedin me, leadin me to go homeIn the clearing stands a boxer, and a fighter by his tradeAnd he carries the reminders of every glove that laid him down or cut himtil he cried out in his anger and his shameI am leaving, I am leaving, but the fighter still remainsYes he still remainsLi la li...

I remember this song when I was in kindergarten. Every time it rained or stormed when I was on the bus, this song would play on the radio station. Talk about amazing memories. Thanks for posting this!

Sorry butyour wrong. Art screwed up. Paul is always rearranging his material. Art sang the original timing but Paul had changed it - Art forgot, that's all. Proves they're human.

just one hell of a tune, you young kids just listen, then keep listening, they are the guys then and now, ask your parents

I think deep down they still love each other alot. You can see it come out from time to time. The anger they have just seems easier to display, as with all of us. The music they created is their glue and will always be their bond. The stronger the glue/music, the harder it is for them to completely walk away from each other.
